Magazine Front Cover Analysis (Ancillary)

Created with flickr slideshow.

I have decided to base my magazine front cover on the magazine Little White Lies as my film can fit the conventions of the magazine, being an independent/mainstream film and something for everyone. TCO London (the distributers) say that their target audience are "18-35 urban trendsetters", which is also the age range of the trailer I want and also has some independent themes. The edited images also fit the magazine and it's look with it's sleek black and white look. Furthermore, I find this magazine interesting in its minimalist style and how they organise their text to fit the pictures.

In my first draft of my magazine, I didn't realise each front cover had the name of the film somewhere on it, even if it's hidden like the Tron issue here:

In my next draft, I will include the name of the film but subtly not like the Black Swan one but more like the one for Let The Right One In.

Soundtrack Analysis

After not hearing back from the people in this post for permission to use their music, I have looked at uncopyrighted music and have came up with a few options.

I like this one but might be a bit too sad and emotional for my trailer- my trailer has dramatic scenes. The music could juxtapose with the more intentionally horrific scenes, e.g. the corridor with the bodies.

I really like this one but I will have to pay to remove the 'preview voice'.

I really liked this one but after seeking permission, it will cost a lot to use it and I sadly can't afford it.

This is the one. Copyright free, fits the feel of the trailer perfectly and is just amazing. There are no flaws.
